There has been a lot of changes impacting cannabis consumer access, products and technology over the last year, and amidst all of the hubbub over the industry, it’s time we had a party for cannabis consumers to celebrate us and our recent victories. The Cannabis Consumers Coalition is hosting a cannabis consumer appreciation and educational event on September 28th, 2019 from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm. The focus will be on mindful consumption and we will have a variety of speakers speaking on consumer-related topics including home cultivation, cannabis delivery new to Colorado, and even mapping your genes to the strains that are best for you.
When: Sept 28th, 2019 Where: Disclosed after RSVP'd Speakers: Dr. Nicco Reggente, Founder and CEO of Strain Genie and Neuroscientist Amy Sharp, Founder and CEO Sharp Solutions Courier Tim Flanagan, Founder and CEO of X Hydro Supply and Award Winning Cultivator Cindy Sovine, Founder and CEO Sovine Consulting and Founder and President Utopia Natural Healing Lounge Neuroscientist and Founder and CEO of Strain Genie, Dr. Nicco Reggente, will be speaking about his company’s technology that uses DNA to determine which strains are best suited for individuals based on genetic factors such as predispositions towards certain diseases and ailments. We thought this was interesting and wanted to learn more and figured others may want to as well, so we are bringing Nicco here to tell us more about this! What we do know is that Strain Genie uses current DNA tests and does their own testing but does not share data and will provide disclaimers stating such to those interesting in trying out the new technology. Home grows are a hot topic nationally, with many interests attacking cannabis consumer rights to cultivate at home, and the Cannabis Consumers Coalition has been a longtime advocate of home grows, even working on policy stakeholder groups working to protect cannabis consumer rights to cultivate at home. Tim Flanagan, who is the Founder and CEO of X Hydro Supply, an online grow supply retailer and, will be speaking about current technologies available for home grows and providing some tips on properly setting up home grows. His submission of home-grown craft cannabis into the Grow-Off earned him Third Place in the Microgrows Terpenes. Amy Sharp, Founder and CEO of Sharp Solutions Courier, will be speaking about home delivery services that is now available to consumers. House Bill 19-1234 finally legalized delivery services and Amy has been at the helm of it all and is part of the rulemaking for the implementation of the bill for the Marijuana Enforcement Division. She is a long-term contributing cannabis community member and entrepreneur along with her husband Devin Sharp of Buddy Boy Brands. Amy will be speaking about the new options available to consumers under this new law. Cindy Sovine has been a longtime trusted ally of the Cannabis Consumers Coalition. She has always championed cannabis consumer rights and has helped us have a seat at the table at very important conversations, including when GW Pharma tried to take over CBD, and she was able to change words and language to protect patients and consumers. Most recently, she has launched a spa and social consumption lounge called Utopia Natural Healing Lounge. She has fought tirelessly for social use and was essential in finally passing a very inclusive social use bill, House Bill 1230, that paves the way for a myriad of creative ways for businesses to incorporate cannabis consumption on their premises and will be providing details on what that looks like for consumers moving forward. Come learn and celebrate with fellow cannabis consumers! Food and beverages will be served. We will have Latin Jazz band, playing from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm on a hempcrete theater. The Cannabis Connoisseurs Coalition will be providing a dab bar and products from previous competition winners. You are also welcome to BYOB. Ample free parking in lot across the street from the venue. Valet parking also available. The event is free with RSVP; however, we are asking for a $10 donation towards Project Pay it Forward and Rolling Hope Foundation. Address will be provided after RSVP’ing

Denver participates in National Expungement Week (N.E.W.) on September 21, 2019National Expungement Week (N.E.W.) is a week of events accross the country that offers expungement and other legal forms of legal relief to some of the 77 million Americans with convictions on their records. These convictions can restrict access to housing, employment, education, voting and public assistance long after sentences have been served. Where: CrossPurpose 3050 Richard Allen Ct, Denver, Colorado 80205 Exciting updates about Denver's N.E.W. event. We are proud to announce that Denver Relief's 2019 National Expungement Week event will be held at CrossPurpose in Denver. This location offers free career and community development programs making it the perfect environment for life changing moves! The clinic will offer free criminal record-sealing services, voter registration and information about employment and licensing opportunities in the industry. Over 40 lawyers and law students have volunteered to participate in a record-sealing training before the event and many are offering their time and services ongoing. We have a robust outreach plan to reach those who qualify. All we need is the financial support of cannabis businesses that believe in an equitable and just industry to help repair the harm done by the failed drug war. The need for legal and financial help still exist for those with seal-able criminal records even though increased eligibility for criminal record sealing passed this last session. The bill still requires the defendant to petition for themselves when there is a criminal conviction. If you would like to financially contribute, click button below or find sponsorship deck here. We are pleased be a part of the supporters along with: Vicente Sederberg, InfluentialX, kindColorado, A. Moffitt Law, eCS Consulting and Verra Wellness. New supporters of the event this year are Kush&Canvas, Cannabis Law League and Maureen Cain, recipient of the 2019 Rupert-Tate Game Changer Award for her contribution to criminal justice reform. We hope you join us in this important work. Please help and help us spread the word by printing or sharing the flyer. The War on Drugs has devastated communities and left over 70 million people in the U.S. with criminal records that prevent them from working, going to school, voting and receiving other vital services.
To repair these harms, a network of advocates created National Expungement Week (N.E.W) in October 2018 to provide legal relief and galvanize support for clean slate legislation. This year, we are hosting Denver’s 2nd annual N.E.W. on Saturday, September 21st 2019. These record sealing events will help people who have been impacted by the criminal justice system to begin restoring access to jobs, housing, the right to vote and more. N.E.W. is a joint project of Equity First Alliance and Cage-Free Repair. Visit www.offtherecord.us for more info on the 30+ cities participating in 2019 #NationalExpungementWeek from 9/21 - 9/28. Denver N.E.W. organizers are local industry advocates: Rosalie Flores (Tierra de Flores), Ebony Miller (eCS Consulting), Melanie Rose Rodgers (Influential X) and Sarah Amelia Woodson (Kush & Canvases) Email: colorofcannabis@gmail.com for questions We are writing today to all our contacts to share information about the upcoming 4th Annual Cannabis Symposium & Silent Disco After-Party at Tilt! Pinball in Louisville. For the last couple of years Colorado NORML has been sponsoring this Cannabis event. The Cannabis Symposium is a unique event, unlike most you have seen. It is neither an industry celebration or a 420 party but an event designed to be an educational and informative Conversation between Community and the Industry. Topics have ranged from the Legitimization of the Industry, Regulations, and Product Usage. Attendance has been positive and discussions lively. You can see all three at youtube.com/yellowscenemag After each event, most people feel a sense of exhilaration by the end, often telling Yellow Scene Magazine it is the best Cannabis event they have attended. There had been one gentleman visiting from Russia tell us; “It’s not just Boulder County that is interested, it is the world.” Goal is to reach people who are ardent supporters to the curious. This year there will be discussions on Sustainability and Social Responsibility. We believe this plant can be an instrumental force in not just changing, but helping save the world. Speakers include: Michael Dougherty, Boulder County District Attorney, will be discussing the social responsibility the government has regarding the plant. Judy Daniels a PhD in Soil Science will be discussing sustainable growing. While she specializes in the Cannabis industry, her knowledge can be transferred to a more sustainable planet in all food production. Elizabeth Knight of Co Hemp Co will be discussing all the things hemp can and should be doing more sustainability than current market options. Carl Lehrburger, Cofounder of PureHemp Technology LLC, Purevision Technology will speak to us what it takes to get our system converted to bio-refining technologies and what the hold-ups are. We are excited to be a sponsor alongside these other great organizations: Elements Boulder, Natures Root, Post-Net of Lafayette, No-CO Hemp, CO Norml, National Cannabis Industry Association and Big Little Sound who will be providing the Silent Disco After Party fun. Steve’s Goods, Ajoya Life, LucidMood and Mountain Mud Sunscreen have already signed up for one of the 2 booths we have remaining. |
